Srinagar, Jan 02 (KNO): Leader of Opposition and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Sharma on Thursday reminded J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to fulfil his poll promises.
In a statement a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sharma said, “More than two months have passed but not even a single poll promise as contained in the election manifesto of NC has been implemented.”
“Omar Abdullah should take pity on the people and start doing something constructive in the UT,” he said, adding, “The NC misled the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir during the 2024 assembly election campaigning on false promises projecting itself as a master with magic stick who would bring down moon and establish jannat here,” Sharma said.
“After winning election and forming government, both the NC and the Chief minister have utterly failed to realize the aspirations of the people of J&K and take effective steps to provide any kind of relief,” he added.
The BJP leader said, “The Chief Minister and others are enjoying ministerial posts. They are satisfied and happy that they achieved their dream of assuming power and are not accountable to anyone.”
The Leader of Opposition further said that simply holding media interaction and making no announcement relating to the poll promises itself speaks that the Chief Minister is not in mood to start any work aimed at public welfare and development, which is very unfortunate. "The people have seen the real face of NC and are feeling cheated as there is no signal about something good going to take place in near future", he said, adding, “The voters had voted NC with very high hopes but all dashed to ground which is visible from the working of the government.”
Sunil Sharma appealed to the people not to get misled again in the future assembly by-election and Panchayat, ULB polls and teach NC lesson for ditching them—(KNO)
